Police in Tirana have initiated criminal proceedings against 11 individuals suspected of obstructing vehicle traffic and pedestrian movement during protests held on June 22 and 23, 2026.

The individuals are being investigated for the criminal offense of “obstructing transportation traffic” and are currently being handled while at large.

According to the official statement, investigators believe the suspects organized and directed gatherings at several key intersections in the capital city, outside the designated areas approved for protest activity.

The affected locations included major junctions in Tirana, where gatherings temporarily blocked traffic flow and disrupted movement for citizens.

Authorities stated that these actions had a direct impact on public order and urban traffic, particularly in high-traffic areas, causing significant delays and congestion.

The case files have been forwarded to the Prosecution Office of Tirana for further legal proceedings.
