The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Peja will submit a request for pretrial detention for 13 individuals arrested in Isniq, Deçan on charges of “organizing pyramid schemes and illegal gambling.”
Gazeta Sinjali previously reported on the case. According to sources, one of the suspects was found with a weapon in his vehicle during a search. Cash was also seized from the premises and from the individuals involved.
The news was confirmed by the prosecutor’s spokesperson, Shkodran Nikçi, who added that an official decision has been made to initiate the investigation.
“The State Prosecutor will, within the legal deadline, submit a request for pretrial detention for the 13 individuals who were arrested and detained by order of the State Prosecutor. The request will be filed in the competent court, where a decision to initiate investigations into the criminal offense of ‘organizing pyramid schemes and illegal gambling’ has also been taken,” Nikçi stated.
