Members of the Ministry of Police in Serbia have arrested 13 individuals in Nis, suspected of committing the criminal offense of negligence in performing duties.
Among those arrested are local officials, directors of healthcare institutions, and members of the Serbian police and military.
As members of the Emergency Headquarters of the City of Niš, they are suspected of acting irresponsibly by voting on conclusions of the City Emergency Situations Headquarters, which proposed to the Mayor to declare a state of emergency in certain areas of the city, according to the importance of the matter, reports N1.
The suspects will be sent to the competent prosecutor’s office with a criminal report.
They are suspected of proposing to the mayor the decision to declare a state of emergency in the city’s municipal areas and ordering the engagement of certain companies.
