14th Anniversary of Hero Enver Zymeri’s Death Marked with 94km Motorcycle Memorial March

To mark the 14th anniversary of the death of hero Enver Zymeri and the Memorial Day for fallen police officers, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that a memorial motorcycle march was held.

Honoring Zymeri and All Fallen Officers

According to the ministry, the event involved a 94-kilometer route in honor of Zymeri and the 24 police officers killed while on duty.

“Through this activity, their sacrifice in the service of preserving the constitutional order, law and public safety is remembered with respect,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated in its announcement today.

July 26 is the date when Kosovo Police officer Enver Zymeri was killed. He died in the line of duty during a police operation in the north of the country in 2011 to take control of border points 1 and 31.

The most recent officer to die on duty was Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku, who was killed on September 26, 2023, during a terrorist attack in Banjska, Zvečan, carried out by an organized Serbian formation.
