Kosovo’s Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, announced that 168 new experts have been certified to serve in the justice sector, describing the development as a strengthening of the country’s professional foundation of judicial expertise.

168 new experts in the service of justice – this is how the professional foundation of judicial expertise in the country is strengthened,” Gërvalla wrote.

She emphasized that the justice system often struggles to function without the opinion of qualified experts, noting that courts and public institutions rely on accurate, professional, and independent assessments from various fields.

“Professional expertise helps ensure that decisions are fairer, better reasoned, and more credible,” the minister stated.

Gërvalla said that the certification of 168 new experts represents an important moment not only for them and their families, but also for the justice system in Kosovo, contributing to the development of a clearer, more professional, and more reliable system of judicial expertise.

She also highlighted that by receiving their certification, experts take on public responsibility to be accurate, impartial, and honest, while maintaining integrity in their professional assessments.

Professional truth is often not easy and not always convenient for all parties, but that is precisely where the importance of the expert’s role lies,” Gërvalla wrote.

The minister added that institutions remain committed to improving the legal framework in this field, as part of broader justice reforms and the European integration agenda, with the aim of completing the legal and administrative infrastructure related to the Law on Judicial Experts.

Gërvalla concluded by wishing the newly certified experts success, expressing confidence that they will make their families, friends, and the state proud, and encouraging them to always be guided by personal integrity, professional truth, ethics, and responsibility toward society.
