The first round of Kosovo’s local elections has concluded, with 17 out of 38 municipalities successfully electing their mayors, while 19 municipalities will proceed to a runoff.

Citizens in four northern municipalities, along with other Serb-majority areas, elected their mayors without a runoff, securing clear victories in the first round.

Meanwhile, voters in the following municipalities will return to the polls for the second round:
South Mitrovica, Prishtina, Vushtrri, Gjakova, Gjilan, Dragash, Kaçanik, Klinë, Fushë Kosovë, Obiliq, Rahovec, Peja, Prizren, Suhareka, Viti, Junik, and Kllokot.

The municipalities that elected Albanian mayors outright in the first round include:
Podujeva, Ferizaj, Skenderaj, Hani i Elezit, Istog, Lipjan, Shtime, Kamenicë, and Deçan.

These results reflect the preliminary outcomes released by the Central Election Commission (CEC) following the October 12 elections.
