Magdalena Urdangaray, the mother of Maria Clara Urdangaray, said that her daughter has received justice and expressed gratitude to Kosovo’s justice institutions.
The Basic Court in Pristina sentenced Endrit Nika to 18 years in prison for the murder of his Argentine girlfriend on August 1, 2023, at a hotel in Fushë-Kosovë.
After the verdict was announced on Thursday, Magdalena said they had always believed in Kosovo’s justice system.
“Despite all the difficulties, it has been hard from the beginning to cope… but we have always believed in Kosovo’s justice. We deeply appreciate the work of the prosecutor, who consistently sought to uncover the truth. And today he proved it with all the evidence. Clara has received justice. Thank you, Kosovo. Thank you to the entire society that supported us,” she said in tears while holding the Kosovo flag in her hands.
Magdalena stated that nothing can bring comfort for the loss of her daughter.
“She remains dead; nothing can console us, and he continues to live. Our daughter was left dead in the most brutal way,” Clara’s mother concluded.
