The National Institute of Public Health in Kosovo (IKSHPK) has announced that 19 positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in our country from July 10 to 23.

IKSHPK announces that the cases belong to the age group from 0-9 to 70-79 years, where the 30-39 age group had 4 cases, as the most affected age group.

Furthermore, IKSHPK says that on May 5, COVID-19 was declared a global health emergency by the WHO, but that in some countries there have been new cases, including our country.

“On May 5, 2023, the WHO has declared the end of COVID-19 as a global health emergency. However, various countries of the world and the European continent have recently registered new cases of COVID-19, although their intensity has not reflected an increase in hospitalizations or other significant health burdens.

“Health authorities as a precautionary measure recommend the practice of preventive measures as the simplest way to reduce health risks from COVID-19, including infection, severe forms of the disease, hospitalization or even death,” the announcement states.
