Albania’s Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, announced that as of 8:00 PM, a total of 22 wildfire outbreaks had been reported across the country, 20 of which have been fully extinguished.
Currently, two fires remain active:
In the village of Hoshtimë, Municipality of Vlorë
In the Ballenjë forest, Municipality of Bulqizë
“We are fully engaged on the ground with all our equipment and forces, including air support from the Armed Forces’ helicopter,” Vengu stated.
He added that the situation is under continuous monitoring, and the civil protection structures remain on high alert to respond swiftly and decisively wherever needed.
Minister Vengu called on citizens to cooperate by reporting any signs of fire and to avoid any actions that could risk the spread of flames.
