On May 16, 1999, under still unclear circumstances, the renowned activist of the National Movement, Ukshin Hoti, disappeared, reports Rks News.

Ukshin Hoti, born on June 17, 1943, in Krusha e Madhe, Rahovec, was a professor, philosopher, writer, and distinguished patriot, deeply engaged in the national cause from 1981 to 1999. He had lectured at several American universities, where he also studied and graduated.

Due to his patriotic activities, Ukshin Hoti was arrested multiple times by the Serbian regime, initially under Tito and later under Milošević. His final arrest occurred in 1994, when he was accused of hostile activity against Yugoslavia and participation in the movement for the Republic of Kosovo. He was sentenced to five years in prison.

Upon his release from Dubrava Prison on May 16, 1999, Ukshin Hoti disappeared at the hands of Serbian police without leaving a trace. Witnesses, including fellow inmates and survivors of the Dubrava massacre, testified that he was released on a Sunday an unusual day for releasing prisoners.

From that day to this, Ukshin Hoti remains missing and is regarded as a symbol of dedication and sacrifice for the national cause.
