Todavendi, the 26th consecutive attempt to constitute the Kosovo Assembly ended in failure, as Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (VV) once again lacked the necessary votes to elect the Assembly Speaker.

VV tried to change the voting procedure to a secret ballot for the election of the Speaker but failed to gain support.

Other parties such as PDK, LDK, AAK, and the Serb List did not propose any members for the secret ballot commission, and boycotted the vote on the commission’s formation altogether.

During the failed vote on the commission, Assembly Chair Avni Dehari interrupted the session, stating:

“53 deputies voted in favor, one against, no abstentions. The session is adjourned. We will meet again on June 5th at 11:00.”

The VV candidate for Assembly Speaker remains Albulena Haxhiu.
