48 New Members Join Kosovo’s Special Operations Unit

A total of 48 new officers have officially joined the Special Operations Unit (NJSO) of the Kosovo Police, following the successful completion of their basic operator training. The solemn certification ceremony was held today at the Special Units Camp in Vrella.

The event was attended by Kosovo Police General Director, Colonel Gazmend Hoxha, the Director of the Special Units Department, Colonel Shabani, senior police officials, instructors, representatives of the U.S. Embassy, U.S. KFOR, and other state institutions.

“This ceremony marks the completion of a professional journey, where the most prepared, resilient, and determined candidates have become part of this elite unit of the Kosovo Police,” the official statement highlighted.

In addition to the new recruits, five instructors of the basic NJSO training program were also certified, while several instructors received recognition awards for their dedicated contribution in preparing the new generation of operators.

The Kosovo Police further emphasized:

“These newly certified members, trained by highly experienced and committed instructors, are now ready to face operational duties and policing challenges – always in defense of law, order, and security, serving the citizens and the Republic of Kosovo.”
