5-Year-Old Attacked by Wolf in Shtërpca, Condition Stable

A 5-year-old child was attacked by a wolf on Wednesday evening in the yard of his home in the village of Brod, Shtërpca.

The child was initially taken to the emergency center in Ferizaj and later transferred to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) for specialized treatment.

Dr. Nazmi Kolgeci, Director of the Thoracic Surgery Clinic, reported that the child’s condition is currently stable.

“His condition is stable at the moment, but he is under close observation. All necessary examinations have been conducted, and we have involved the epidemiology team. The patient will need to remain in the clinic for about a week. The injuries are located on his chest and back,” said Dr. Kolgeci.

Police spokesperson Kanun Veseli confirmed the incident and provided details of the attack:

“On August 27, 2025, at 21:45, the police in Shtërpca were informed about an attack in the ‘Coklarë’ neighborhood of Brod, where a wolf attacked a 5-year-old child. According to the family, the incident occurred around 19:00 while the child was in the yard of his home. The child was first taken to Ferizaj for emergency care, and then to Prishtina for specialized medical treatment.”
