Officials from the Kosovo Customs Anti-Smuggling Unit have seized 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition (Luger – X-Force) during a routine inspection at the Hani i Elezit border crossing.
The ammunition was hidden in the trunk of a car entering the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, while the travelers had initially declared that they had no goods to declare.
“On 12.09.2025, around 05:45, at the Hani i Elezit Border Crossing, officials of the Anti-Smuggling Unit of Kosovo Customs, during a routine inspection of a vehicle entering the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, discovered 50 rounds of 9mm Luger (X-Force) ammunition. During the initial declaration, the travelers stated that they did not possess goods for declaration. However, after a detailed inspection by customs officers, a hidden package containing the aforementioned ammunition was found in the vehicle’s trunk,” reads the official statement from Customs.
The bullets were confiscated, and the case has been handed over to the Kosovo Police for further legal procedures.
