Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has once again expressed his firm stance against Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip, describing them as “genocide.”
“We fully support any project that will permanently stop the massacre and genocide that has been taking place in Gaza for the past two years,” Erdogan declared during a speech in the Black Sea city of Rize, according to Anadolu Agency (AA).
He added that Turkey hopes the new ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas will bring lasting peace, calm, and stability to Gaza and other Palestinian territories.
The Turkish president also called on Israel to honor the ceasefire agreement and end its aggressive policies, which, according to him, threaten the security of the region and its people.
Meanwhile, around 200 U.S. troops have begun arriving in Israel to establish a coordination center aimed at facilitating the flow of humanitarian aid, as well as providing logistical and security assistance in Gaza. They are not expected to enter Palestinian territory, according to official sources.
