Valmir Elezi, spokesperson for the Central Election Commission (CEC), confirmed to Express that the voter turnout abroad for the February 9, 2025 elections was 80.10%. He noted that this percentage might change following the evaluation process.
Elezi reported that 15,352 out of 20,324 registered voters participated in the election in diplomatic missions, and 68,712 postal ballots were received from various countries.
In total, 104,924 Kosovo citizens were registered to vote abroad, with the final counting to occur in the Central Counting and Results Center (QNR) after a few days.
The process will include verification of ballots to ensure they belong to registered voters and confirm that other procedures have been followed. Counting for the ballots of individuals with special needs will also take place in the coming days.
