Albulena Haxhiu, Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, commemorated Mon Balaj on what would have been his 46th birthday, describing him as a figure whose legacy remains alive in the collective memory for his sacrifice and dedication to the nation.
In a public statement, Haxhiu said she visited the Balaj family to mark this special occasion, highlighting their long history of contributions to Kosovo’s freedom.
“Today, Mon Balaj would have celebrated his 46th birthday. To honor and remember this day, we visited his family, a family with a deep history of sacrifice and patriotism, who over generations have given much for the freedom of our country,” Haxhiu wrote.
She praised Balaj’s enduring legacy, emphasizing the impact and values he left behind.
“Mon Balaj remains a name remembered with respect for his faith, commitment, and sacrifice. He illuminated both the patriotic family heritage of the past and our path forward,” the statement added.
According to Haxhiu, the visit to the Balaj family was a moment of reflection, honoring the values he represented.
“We spent meaningful moments with the Balaj family, recalling with respect and pride the life and values that Mon represented,” she said.
