Kosovo has reiterated that its path toward NATO remains a key strategic objective, as senior officials highlighted ongoing cooperation with the Alliance during a high-level farewell meeting.
Astrit Zemaj, Director of the Department for NATO and Security Policies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, hosted a farewell meeting for Sven Lange, Head of the NATO Advisory and Liaison Team (NALT) in Kosovo, marking the conclusion of his mandate.
According to an official statement, both sides praised the close and continuous cooperation between Kosovo’s institutions and NATO through NALT, emphasizing its direct impact on strengthening Kosovo’s defense capabilities and enhancing interoperability with Alliance structures.
“The ongoing cooperation with NALT has contributed to advancing Kosovo’s capacities and increasing interoperability with NATO structures,” the statement noted.
Zemaj expressed gratitude for General Lange’s leadership and contributions, underlining their importance in helping Kosovo meet standards aligned with its long-term ambition of NATO membership.
“We highly value the leadership and contribution of Brigadier General Dr. Sven Lange in meeting the standards that bring the Republic of Kosovo closer to its strategic goal of joining NATO,” Zemaj stated.
Kosovo officials also reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation with NATO and allied countries, describing the partnership as essential for national security and the country’s broader Euro-Atlantic integration agenda.
