Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed a conditional ceasefire to Russia, stating that Ukraine is ready to halt attacks on Russian energy infrastructure—if Moscow agrees to do the same.

According to Ukrainian media, the proposal was communicated to the Russian side through the United States as an intermediary.

In his evening address, Zelensky emphasized that the initiative is based on reciprocity:
Ukraine would stop targeting Russia’s energy sector only if Russia halts strikes on Ukraine’s energy facilities.

The proposal comes amid ongoing attacks on critical infrastructure on both sides, particularly energy systems, which have been heavily targeted throughout the conflict.

This move signals a potential opening for limited de-escalation, even as broader hostilities between Ukraine and Russia continue.

However, it remains unclear whether Moscow will accept the proposal, as previous ceasefire initiatives have faced significant challenges.
