Haxhiu Pledges Support for Survivors of Wartime Sexual Violence

Albulena Haxhiu has reaffirmed institutional support for survivors of wartime sexual violence during a meeting with Feride Rushiti, head of the Kosovo Rehabilitation Centre for Torture Survivors (QKRMT).

In a statement shared on social media, Haxhiu emphasized the importance of continued efforts to advance the rights, dignity, and well-being of survivors. She praised Rushiti’s longstanding commitment and tireless work in supporting victims of sexual violence during the war, describing the mission as vital not only for survivors but also for strengthening justice and societal dignity in Kosovo.

Haxhiu assured that both she and state institutions would provide full support to initiatives aimed at improving conditions for survivors and ensuring their rights are protected and respected.

The meeting highlights ongoing institutional efforts to address the legacy of wartime abuses and to reinforce mechanisms of justice, recognition, and rehabilitation for survivors.
