The patriarch of Serb Orthodox Church Porfirije has made a hate speech disinforming against the Republic of Kosovo, while calling it “Old Serbia”!
This is the full statement that he made :
In the nature of a created being is contained its connection with the world, with nature, or rather, with the land on which it lives, which is its cradle, home, and place of burial. Kosovo and Metohija are both our cradle and our home.
In “Kosovo and Metohija”, in old Serbia, lie our living and our dead. There are no dead. We are the church of the living, we are a Christian people, a people of Golgotha and Resurrection. We are a people of Christian identity expressed through endowments that form the densest prayer wreath of temples in the world.
A wreath that we have woven in “Kosovo and Metohija”. And that is the truth that stands on the mountain; there our past, present, and future are retold. For this holy and crucifixion-resurrection land is not an ordinary territory for us, but precisely that holy land from which our field of dry bones will awaken and resurrect. “
We must always pray and be with our suffering brothers and sisters in “Kosovo and Metohija”, who are a living expression of hope, love, endurance, and survival in the crucified and resurrected Christ the Lord, with them who are targets of violence just because they are Orthodox Christians, Orthodox Serbs, because they are on their own land. They live in so-called peace, in peace without freedom, in peace with only fear and injustice.
Again, as many times before, we are faced with hardships and pressures, but the words of the holy Prophet Nahum are always in our minds: “Although they are strong and many, they will be cut down and pass away.”
