The remains of at least two individuals believed to be among those missing from the last war in Kosovo were discovered on Thursday in Mitrovica.
According to the 24-hour police report, the excavation was carried out by court order.
“During the excavation, the remains of at least two persons who went missing during the last war period were found, and it is believed they belong to the national list of persons forcibly disappeared during the 1998–1999 war,” the report stated.
After on-site procedures were completed, the remains were transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for further examination and identification through DNA analysis.
