The Commission for European Integration, in cooperation with GIZ, have organized the table on the topic “Increasing regional integration: Kosovo’s role in the Berlin Process and in the CEFTA presidency”.
It was said there that the Berlin Process is one of the best platforms to have economic development, while Kosovo is considered to be among the most professional states in fulfilling the obligations that have emerged compared to other CEFTA countries.
The President of the Commission for European Integration, Rrezarta Krasniqi, said that Kosovo is committed to implementing the reforms in order to benefit the state and the region.
On this occasion, she asked the European Union to remove the measures imposed on Kosovo.
“As the head of the commission, I had the privilege of witnessing the important steps that Kosovo has taken towards European integration. The Berlin Process launched in 2014 represents an important platform for promoting economic development. Kosovo has been an active participant in the Berlin process and we remain committed to promoting economic growth. The inclusion of Kosovo shows our willingness to work with our neighbors. In 2025, Kosovo has the honor of presiding over the CEFTA agreement. Kosovo will be committed to increasing trade facilitation and promoting a more competitive and integrated market. We are focused on implementing reforms that will not only benefit our economy but also contribute to the prosperity of the region.
I call on the EU to remove the measures against Kosovo because Kosovo is a European country and the path to the European Union must be opened for it along with its democratic values”, said Krasniqi.
The Deputy General Director of the Kosovo Agency for Investments and Enterprise Support, Zef Dedaj, stated that Kosovo has already designed the necessary policies, which are in harmony with those of the European Union.
Therefore, he emphasized that Kosovo will implement all obligations in a professional manner, as he added that the country is performing very well compared to the states of the region.
“Undoubtedly, this will be challenging, but Kosovo has had an extraordinary experience. Knowing the importance of the market and the Berlin Summit, Kosovo immediately began to design the necessary policies, which are in harmony with international policies and those of the European Union. I insist and think that Kosovo has been in some areas the most professional state in fulfilling the obligations that have arisen compared to other CEFTA countries. There are also many other reports where Kosovo performs very well and is ranked much better than the countries of the region. CEFTA is a necessary mechanism for Kosovo, because it obliges us to implement the obligations that came out of the Berlin Summit”, he added.
