The UN General Assembly adopted the resolution declaring July 11 the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Srebrenica Genocide.
With 84 votes in favor, the Resolution on Srebrenica was passed at the meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
193 countries participated in this vote, 19 were against and 68 abstained, during the vote the countries did not have the right of veto.
With this resolution, July 11 will be designated as the “International Day of Reflection and Remembrance of the 1995 Genocide in Srebrenica”.
On July 11, 1995, the Serbian police and army carried out one of the largest massacres, killing approximately 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys.
