United States President Donald Trump has said that Washington could withdraw all American troops currently stationed in Europe.
Speaking on Tuesday at the opening of the NATO Summit in Ankara, Trump said that Europe has changed significantly compared to two decades ago and urged European countries to be more cautious.
“We could withdraw all of our soldiers from Europe,” Trump said.
He added that Europe needs to pay closer attention, particularly regarding immigration and energy issues.
“If they are not careful with these two things, you will not have Europe anymore,” the U.S. president stated.
Trump made the remarks during the NATO Summit in Ankara, where one of the main topics is increasing European responsibility for the continent’s defense and security.
