Former North Macedonian Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani has criticized his country’s official delegation to the NATO Summit in Ankara, saying it is composed exclusively of ethnic Macedonian officials for the first time since North Macedonia joined the Alliance.

According to Osmani, this marks the first occasion since the country’s accession to NATO that no representatives from other ethnic communities are included in the official delegation.

He argued that the move undermines the Ohrid Framework Agreement, warning that its implementation is being weakened.

“For the first time since North Macedonia joined NATO, its official delegation to a NATO Summit is monoethnic. This is the full-speed implementation of the ruling party’s nationalist slogan: ‘Macedonia, Yours Again.’ The dismantling of the Ohrid Framework Agreement is accelerating. This must be stopped,” Osmani wrote.
