Speaking to CNN on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Ankara, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski expressed Europe’s growing concerns over Russia’s ongoing hybrid warfare.
“Russia has been waging hybrid war against us for years. The West did not recognize it for a long time, but I think now everyone does,” Sikorski said. “It includes arson attacks, assassination attempts, interference in our politics, massive disinformation campaigns, and state-sponsored terrorism.”
As previously reported by CNN, Poland has been warned by the United States that Russian President Vladimir Putin could launch a limited attack against Europe, potentially using drones or other forms of hybrid warfare.
“Whatever the case, our message to Vladimir Putin is this: we know what you’re planning—don’t do it,” Sikorski said.
