Ukraine’s ambassador to Ankara was summoned on Saturday to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs following attacks on two vessels operated by Turkish companies in the Black Sea.
According to Turkish Foreign Ministry sources cited by Anadolu Agency, the vessel “Lider Bordo Mavi” was struck on August 26 near the Russian port city of Tuapse.
The following day, the “Lider Kocatepe” was sent to the area to tow the damaged vessel, but it was also reportedly targeted.
Following the incidents, Turkish authorities conveyed their concerns to the Ukrainian ambassador and issued the necessary warnings.
During the meeting, Turkish officials emphasized the need to ensure the safety of people, property, navigation and the environment in the Black Sea.
