Thousands of Serbian extremists across eastern Bosnia took to the streets to honor convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić, who was found guilty of crimes resulting in the deaths of at least 8,372 Bosniak civilians.
Footage shows people lighting candles and honoring Mladić as a “hero” in the Serb-majority cities of Zvornik and Bijeljina, near the Serbian border, in the territory they refer to as Republika Srpska, KP reports.
Support for Mladić, who died in prison in The Hague, remains extremely high in the Serb-majority parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is still significant in Serbia itself.
