Prime Minister Albin Kurti welcomed boxer Donjeta Sadiku to his office following her gold-medal victory at the “Taranto 2026” Mediterranean Games.
Kurti said that Sadiku dedicated her medal to Kosovo and thanked her for her continued hard work and commitment to the sport of boxing.
“We will remember the victory at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games for a long time, because it is historic,” Kurti wrote.
He noted that Sadiku and her coach, Marjola Sallauka, immediately began preparations for the European Championships, which will be held next month.
The meeting also focused on medal ambitions for the “Prishtina 2030” Mediterranean Games.
“Proud of Kosovo’s boxing as well, in addition to judo. Thank you for representing the Republic of Kosovo with dignity on the international sporting stage,” Kurti concluded.
