The newly appointed members of Kosovo’s Central Election Commission (KQZ) will take their oath today before Acting President Albulena Haxhiu.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 at the Office of the President of the Republic of Kosovo.

Haxhiu had previously said she was reviewing the documentation submitted by the political parties before issuing the decree appointing the new KQZ members.

The new commission will include six representatives from Albanian political parties and four representatives of non-majority communities, while KQZ Chair Kreshnik Radoniqi will continue to serve as chair.

The appointments come as Kosovo continues to navigate a prolonged political deadlock, making a fully functioning electoral institution particularly important for the country’s political process.
