On the most important day of the state, Liberation Day, citizens will be able to witness the parade of KSF units along with those of the Police in the capital’s squares.
This is in honor of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of peace in Kosovo.
For the first time, the number of members who will be part of the KSF squares marching is very large.
Additionally, they will have individual armaments that have not been seen before by the citizens.
“There will be 1500 members of the KSF parading in the square on the occasion of the anniversary of Liberation Day,” says the Ministry of Defense.
Former military officer Hysen Gecaj sees all this as in the interest of the state.
“They want to showcase their capabilities and send a message to those who follow these things, and it is understood that this is in the interest of the state to show how far it has come with the support of its own forces,” Gecaj says.
According to him, the increase in the number of participants in the parade aims to show the development of the KSF.
“This numerical increase aims to show that a force that was smaller in number, like the KSF, is now growing and developing both in terms of personnel and armament, as well as the weapons it currently possesses.”
On June 12, 1999, NATO-led peacekeeping troops entered Kosovo.
Since then, this is considered the day of Kosovo’s freedom.
The first troops to enter Kosovo were those of the United Kingdom, who first arrived in Kaçanik and continued along the main road to Pristina.
