During the first day of the annual meeting of the representatives of the defense and security commissions of the parliaments of Southeast Europe, in Sarajevo, the Serbian delegation and the vice-chairman of the Defense and Security Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Radovan Kovačević, interrupted the speeches of representatives of Kosovo and left the conference.
This was announced by the member of the Kosovo delegation, Arbër Rexhaj, through his Facebook account, on June 12.
Rexhaj wrote that the Kosovo delegation was faced with “Serbian street people”.
“In our words, once again Serbia tried to stop our speeches through fists on the table, closing our microphones, as a real way. But still, they could not and they will never be able to”, said Rexhaj, noting that he was a participant there together with the other deputy of the Assembly of Kosovo, Erxhan Galushi.
He thanked the deputies of Albania and Croatia, who, as he said, “faced them, clearly lining up on our side”.
“I told them bluntly that Kosovo is an internationally recognized state, certified by the International Court of Justice. Also, the attack in Banjska in Kosovo proves that Serbia has not changed, it is the same as Milosevic’s,” wrote Rexhaj.
The entity’s news agency Republika Srpska, SRNA reported that the Serbian delegation with Kovacevic – a member of Milorad Dodi’s Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) – left the conference because “a member of the Croatian delegation, Zdravka Bushic, said that Kosovo will be admitted to the Council of Europe”.
