The Government of Kosovo has reiterated that the draft statute proposed by the European Union for the establishment of the Association is a document without ownership, without address and without signature. Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi said that the Government cannot send newspaper articles to the Constitutional Court for interpretation.
The government has rejected a request from the USA and the EU, which asked it to send the draft statute of the Association to the Constitutional Court for interpretation. The Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi, said that the draft statute for the association submitted by the EU has no authorship or signature, therefore, according to him, the Government does not send newspaper articles to the Constitutional Court.
We are in the process of joining the Council of Europe. Kosovo has fulfilled all the criteria that the Council of Europe has requested from Kosovo. The KIE Parliamentary Assembly has said that Kosovo has met all the criteria. Then there were criteria that deviated from the requirements of the European Commission and which were rejected by the Parliamentary Assembly itself, such as the request for sending the draft of the Association, which is not actually a draft or a document because there is neither a signature nor nor ownership. Until now, there are several addresses that have said this is our draft, that is, we do not send newspaper articles, nor opinions, nor drafts that do not have authorship or ownership to the Constitutional Court”, Bislimi told rtv21.
The statements of the representatives of the government that they have not accepted the association are not filling the minds of the representatives of the opposition. The President of the European Integration Commission, Rrezarta Krasniqi, says that the Government has accepted the Association with the Ohrid and Brussels agreements in the framework of the normalization of relations with Serbia.
“The government should come out and show the people that Albin Kurti and VV have accepted the association with executive powers. They want and have a small Serbia within the state of Kosovo. All the citizens of Kosovo should know that they have accepted the association, that they can expect implementation in the coming days”, said Krasniqi.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi, the lack of concrete results in the process of dialogue with Serbia does not represent a problem for Kosovo in the integration processes, even though the European Union says otherwise.
“The dialogue is part of the Stabilization Association agreement, it was agreed by the previous governments at the moment when the Stabilization Association agreement was agreed, therefore it will be part of our assessment, but it is not something that blocks the integration”, said Bislimi.
The President of the Commission for European Integrations Rrezarta Krasniqi insists that the integration processes are related to the results of the dialogue. Blame the Government for this.
“This government has connected the dialogue with the integration processes of Kosovo because with the membership in the Council of Europe the heads of state have committed themselves to the processes that are related to the dialogue, for this reason Kosovo has failed in the Council”, said Krasniqi.
The government says that they are working on the EU agenda for European integration related to the Stabilization Association agreement which is expected to benefit from EU funds.
