Kosovo’s government has allocated €15 million to support economically vulnerable households with their electricity bills under a new subsidy programme for 2026–2027.

Minister of Labour, Family and the Values of the Kosovo Liberation War, Andin Hoti, has signed the decision establishing the conditions and eligibility criteria for the Programme for the Protection of Vulnerable Electricity Consumers.

The Ministry of Labour, Family and the Values of the Kosovo Liberation War announced the decision in a statement published on Facebook.

According to the ministry, the decision outlines the eligibility requirements, application procedures, calculation and payment of subsidies, as well as the process for reviewing applications and verifying applicants’ information.

The €15 million allocated by the government is intended to help households facing financial hardship manage their electricity costs and ease the burden of energy expenses.

The application process is expected to open soon. However, the ministry has not yet announced an exact opening date or provided full details on how households can apply.

The ministry said citizens would be informed in advance about the application deadline and the procedures required to benefit from the programme.

“The application call will open soon. We will inform you in due time about the opening date and the application procedure,” the ministry stated.
