Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever has sent a congratulatory letter to Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti on the occasion of his third term in office, expressing Belgium’s willingness to deepen cooperation with Kosovo.

De Wever highlighted opportunities to strengthen bilateral relations in several key areas, including the economy, security and justice, praising the growing political contacts between the two governments.

He emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries’ police and judicial authorities, particularly in combating organized crime, which he described as a major concern for both Belgium and Kosovo.

The Belgian prime minister also expressed hope for expanded cooperation in other sectors, including defense and prison services, while stressing the importance of strengthening economic ties and building on the strong human connections created by the Kosovo diaspora in Belgium.

Kurti’s third term begins following a prolonged institutional deadlock in Kosovo, with the formation of the new institutions opening the way for the government to resume its full range of domestic and international responsibilities.
