Richard Grenell, a longtime Trump ally and former head of the Kennedy Center, is facing serious allegations after a Turkish businessman and his wife accused him of offering political access in exchange for money.
According to Axios, Turhan Mildon claims he paid $17.6 million to Texas Armament & Technology, with nearly $6 million allegedly intended for the Kennedy Center. Mildon and his wife, Alina Habba, claim the institution never received the money and have reportedly submitted messages and financial documents to the White House.
Following the allegations, Trump reportedly ordered a White House investigation into the matter.
Grenell denies sending the alleged message and insists the accusations are false. The claims have not been independently established, and no finding of wrongdoing has been reported.
