U.S. Senator Gary Peters has expressed deep concern over the escalating situation in Albania, urging local authorities to refrain from aggression against peaceful protesters and calling on all sides to work to prevent further violence.
In a statement posted on X, Peters highlighted Michigan’s large and active Albanian-American community, noting that developments in Albania are deeply personal for many residents of the state.
“Albania’s people deserve a government that respects their fundamental rights and upholds the rule of law,” Peters said, pledging to continue advocating for peace and justice for all Albanians.
