Kosovo’s Parliamentary Committee on Health has approved a draft bill amending the law on budget appropriations for the Republic of Kosovo’s 2026 budget.

The bill was approved with six votes in favour, three abstentions and no votes against.

Vetëvendosje MP Sylejman Meholli said the budget amendments include an additional €102 million allocated under the budget code for the 13th-month salary for public-sector employees. The funding will also cover healthcare professionals and retroactive payments for the 0.5% annual salary supplement based on years of service, in line with a Constitutional Court ruling.

Meanwhile, PDK MP Blerta Deliu-Kodra stressed the need for Health Minister Arben Vitia to report to the committee so members can address outstanding concerns, including health insurance legislation.

Vetëvendosje representative Naim Bardiqi said the Ministry of Health is also covered by the budget amendments, which include provisions related to compulsory health insurance, medical supplies, pharmaceutical services, primary healthcare and future healthcare spending.
