The Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Özkan Ulutaş, met today with the Swedish Ambassador to Kosovo, His Excellency Jonas B. Westerlund, at KFOR Headquarters in Camp Film City, Pristina.

They exchanged views on recent security trends and KFOR activities under its UN mandate and support for the EU-facilitated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

Major General Ulutaş also acknowledged Sweden’s valuable contributions to the mission.

“KFOR continues to implement its mandate – based on the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and in an impartial manner,” the KFOR statement said.

KFOR is the third responder to security issues, following the Kosovo Police and the EU Rule of Law Mission (EULEX), with whom it works in close coordination.
