The Court of Appeal has rejected the appeals of the three suspects for the terrorist attack in Banjska against the decision of the Basic Court to continue their detention.

On June 26, the Basic Court in Pristina made a decision, with which it approved the request of the Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK), so that the measure of detention was extended from two months (each separately) to the three suspects Vladimir Toliq, Blagoje Spasojevic and Dushan Maksimovic, for the terrorist attack on the Kosovo Police in Banjska, reports “Oath of Justice”.

The Court of Appeal of Kosovo with the ruling PN.1.S.nr.137/2024, dated 04.07.2024, has rejected as unfounded the appeals of the defenders of the defendants V.T, av. Milos Delevic, B.S., av. Ljubomir Pantovic and D.M, av. Jovana Filipovic, while the decision of the Basic Court in Prishtina – Special Department, PPPS.nr.44/2023, dated 21.06.2024, has been certified.

The Court of appeal explained the reasons why the defense appeal was rejected and the decision of the first instance was confirmed.

“In the specific case, the panel of the second instance court has assessed that by leaving the defendants at liberty, there will be a risk that they will repeat the criminal acts, commit other criminal acts, influence the witnesses or leave the The Republic of Kosovo, in order to avoid criminal responsibility for the crimes for which they are being investigated, therefore the panel in question, has not found a reasonable basis in relation to the concrete circumstances to assign any milder measure, because none of the measures more lenient did not eliminate the real risk for these particular bases”, the Appeal decision states.
