The spokeswoman of the European Commission, Ana Pisonero, has said that they are waiting for the finalization of the reform agendas from the six countries of the Western Balkans in order to proceed with the EU Growth Plan for the region.
“We are waiting for all partners to finalize the reform agendas. As you know, their reform agendas include socio-economic areas. And, of course, when we receive these reform agendas, we will be able to evaluate and approve them, obviously after consultation with the member countries. So, this is still waiting for the partners of the Western Balkans”, she said on Friday at a conference.
As for the case of Kosovo and Serbia, she said that for these countries the precondition related to the progress on their path to normalization of relations has been set, while she warned the countries that they risk losing many opportunities if the required progress is missing.
“When it comes to Kosovo and Serbia, it is a prerequisite to cooperate in a constructive way in the framework of the dialogue commitments and of course this is something that will be monitored and we are waiting for the parties to send their reform agendas. Both sides risk losing important opportunities in the absence of progress”, said Pisonero.
