A minor was caught in the act after midnight in the north while posting “some leaflets” that the police say incited hatred.

Additionally, posters with photos of Stefan Nedeljković, one of the killed Serbian paramilitaries who attacked the Kosovo Police on September 24, 2023, killing Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku, were put up in North Mitrovica.

The Deputy Director of Police for the northern region, Veton Elshani, told the media that for this case, besides the minor caught in the act, three other minors were detained and interviewed, and they are working on interviewing a fifth person.

“Last night around 01:00 AM, a person was found posting some leaflets that, after verification, led to the initiation of the case for inciting hatred. This person was detained on the prosecutor’s order, and so far, four other persons have been identified,” said Elshani.

Elshani stated that the homes of each of those interviewed were searched, and during the searches in North Mitrovica and Zubin Potok, “over 1500 leaflets” were found.

“Three of them have been interviewed, material evidence supporting the act of inciting hatred has been found, and we are currently working on interviewing the fifth person related to this case,” he said.

Elshani said that “besides the first person who was arrested, the other three were released after the interview under regular procedure.”

“All identified or interviewed persons (including the detainee) are minors,” clarified Elshani.
