The White House has issued a joint statement of the United States and Germany on the deployment of long-range missiles on German territory.

Full statement

Following discussions before the NATO Summit, the governments of the United States and Germany issued a joint statement:

The United States will begin episodic deployment of its Multi Domain Task Force’s long-range missiles to Germany in 2026 as part of planning for the long-term stationing of these weapons in the future. When fully developed, these long-range conventional fire units will include the SM-6, Tomahaek, and developmental hypersonic weapons, which have significantly longer ranges than current land-based missiles in Europe. The exercise of these advanced capabilities will demonstrate the United States’ commitment to NATO and its contribution to Europe’s integrated deterrence.
