Starmer met with Biden in the Oval Office at the White House on Wednesday, and the leaders discussed relations between their two countries as well as the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.
“The President welcomed the statements made recently by the Prime Minister about establishing close relations with our European counterparts, but also the commitment of the United Kingdom to AUKUS,” the British Government said, referring to the security pact between Britain, the United States and Australia. .

Starmer attended the NATO summit in Washington, where he met with European leaders, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Starmer said he wants Britain to restore relations with the European Union, improve cooperation in areas such as security and trade, seeking to ease tensions that arose after the 2016 referendum, when Britons decided to leave the European bloc. .
