Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic baptized Lazar Jankovic from Kosovo today in the church of Saint Sava.
This was announced by the president of Serbia on his Instagram profile.
Last year I welcomed little Llazar and his family to the Presidency, the one thousandth baby that was born in the maternity hospital in Pasjan, in our Kosovo. Meanwhile, Lazari has really grown up and I, as a proud godfather, today take on one of the most sacred duties. Baptism is a great blessing from God for Lazarus and a great responsibility for me, because godparenthood in our nation is much more than custom and tradition – it is a life oath, a symbol of protection and love, as well as care for education. That is why this day is so important in my life. Happy for us, Lazar! And that every next year there will be as many children as possible in our beautiful Serbia!”, wrote Vucic.
As a reminder, today is the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Srebrenica Genocide, writes Danas.
On behalf of Serbia, at the commemoration in Potocari, on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the genocide, only one representative of the Government of Serbia was present, namely Usama Zukorlić.
Zukorliq is the minister without portfolio responsible for reconciliation, regional cooperation and social stability.
