Former President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, has informed the relevant Montenegrin authorities that he has received information about a plot to assassinate him, his office reported to “Vijesti,” as written by “Pobjeda.me.”
“The aforementioned information was received by the former president from certain international officials within the intelligence community, and he has notified the state authorities accordingly,” Đukanović’s office stated in response to whether someone from the security sector had informed him that his safety was at risk and an assassination was being planned.
Late last night, the Police Directorate told “Vijesti” that they have no data indicating any planned activities that would threaten the safety of former President Milo Đukanović.
“According to Article 18 of the Law on the President of Montenegro, upon the end of his term, the President is entitled to permanent personal security in accordance with the security assessment determined by the competent authority, in accordance with the law. In line with the current regulations, the National Security Agency is responsible for preparing reports for the assessment of security threats,” stated the Police Directorate.
