Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla has stated that the European Union’s recognition of illegal passports of Kosovo Serbs for visa liberalization is a wrong step.
In a press conference, she emphasized that these actions are taken by the EU itself and not by Kosovo.
“We have consistently warned and informed important actors in the European Union, and as you can see, they have made a decision that, in our judgment, not only leads down the wrong path but also makes it clear that some actors in the EU are not very interested in better integration of minorities, of non-Albanian minorities in Kosovo, in this case, the Serbian minority, but rather work more towards their separation.”
“We believe this is the wrong path. We believe that the faster integration of all Kosovo citizens with legal documents from Kosovo in all spheres leads to a better atmosphere for all of them and for all of us. We do not remain silent so that such mistakes are not repeated, but you must be aware that decisions for the EU are made by the EU and not by Kosovo,” said Gërvalla.
