President Vjosa Osmani has stated that after the elections in the European Union, there will be a new mediator to take over the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

Therefore, she said that these months leading up to the elections are crucial for this process.

Regarding this issue, Prof. Dr. Eshref Ymeri spoke in a statement to “Bota sot”.

He starts by outlining the situation, expressing that the dialogue so far has not been successful because the negotiators have been from countries that have not recognized Kosovo.

Continuing further, the analyst emphasizes that we cannot be sure that other mediators will be in favor of Kosovo.

“Firstly, if after the elections in the European Union, personalities with a friendly stance towards Kosovo come to the forefront, the mediators in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue will be from countries that have recognized Kosovo’s independence. The current mediators, as you know very well, Spanish Borrell and Slovak Lajčák, from two countries that do not recognize Kosovo’s independence, have been representatives of Brussels, which best demonstrates that Brussels has been aligned with Serbia and against Kosovo. The choice of two mediators from two countries not at all supportive of Kosovo’s independence best demonstrates Brussels’ shameful, if not disgraceful, stance towards the Republic of Kosovo. Thaçi, as the ultimate traitor to Kosovo and an agent of Belgrade, had accepted those mediators. Albanians, upon coming to power, should not have accepted the continuation of dialogue with those two pro-Serb mediators.

Secondly, President Vjosa Osmani, in my view, should not pin hopes on the new mediators, as there is no guarantee that Brussels will not select them from Romania, Greece, or Cyprus. But even if they are chosen from countries that have recognized Kosovo’s independence, this does not mean they will align themselves in support of Kosovo, as Brussels’ political orientation is entirely in support of Serbia, which, silently, means in support of Russia.

Thirdly, Madam President should not hope that these months leading up to the Brussels elections will be decisive in the dialogue process. Fascist Serbia, in its chauvinistic constitution, considers Kosovo part of its territory. In these circumstances, my Albanian sister, does dialogue with Serbia make any sense? I am fully convinced that dialogue with a fascist state like Serbia is self-abasement for Kosovo. This absurd dialogue reminds me of Enver Hoxha’s dialogue with Greece from 1949 to 1971. So, for 22 years, Greece did not recognize Albania’s independence, yet Enver Hoxha, as head of state, maintained a self-abasing stance towards Greece, directing 40 requests for dialogue to them, despite Greece’s massacres against Chameria being among the most horrific in human history,” explains the analyst.

Albin, Vjosa, and Glauku must rely heavily on the people

On the other hand, the analyst adds that the leaders of the Kosovo government must rely on the people in order for Kosovo to progress and be strong against any challenge.

“Now, let’s speak with open hearts: When Albin was in opposition, he declared that there would be no dialogue with Serbia without reciprocal recognition. When he came to power after February 14, 2021, he changed his stance and engaged in dialogue. Dialogue with Serbia, which had committed atrocious killings and massacres in Kosovo, destroyed 200,000 homes, plundered all the citizens’ savings from the Bank of Pristina, raped 20,000 impoverished women, is pointless so far because Serbia remains unpunished. In these circumstances, I repeat once again, dialogue with Serbia is self-abasement for the Republic of Kosovo.

Judging by Brussels’ stance, which shamefully imposed sanctions against the Republic of Kosovo, as well as the stance of the State Department through its ambassadors in Pristina and Belgrade, as well as Escobar’s stance against Albin Kurti, it naturally concludes that the entire West, from Brussels to Washington, regrets bombing Serbia. Therefore, in order to establish and preserve the authority of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin, Vjosa, and Glauku must rely heavily on the people, to harvest their opinion through a nationwide Referendum, asking what their response is to four questions:

  1. Should all treacherous agreements of Thaçi with Belgrade in Brussels be discarded?
  2. Is it necessary to engage in dialogue with fascist Serbia, the criminals against the Albanian people of Kosovo, and the thieves of its citizens’ savings?
  3. Should the creation of the Association of Serb Municipalities be accepted?
  4. Do you agree with changing the name Kosovo to Dardania – a traditional name since the time of the Pelasgian-Illyrians?” concluded Prof. Dr. Eshref Ymeri for “Bota sot”.
