COVID-19 continues to be one of the saddest viruses for Kosovars, but not only.
The world underwent the greatest changes since the wars it had known for years. Due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, many people lost their lives, others remained sick for a long time and great economic damage was caused to the world.
But now that we thought everything was over, new cases of this virus appeared again.
The cases have even increased in Kosovo.
The Kosovar Institute of Public Health has announced that in the last two weeks there has been an increase in the number of coronavirus infections in Kosovo.
The IKSHPK said that from July 17 to July 30, 39 positive cases of COVID-19 were registered in Kosovo, but no fatal cases were reported.
In relation to the situation created by the IKSHPK, they said that two patients are currently being treated in the Infectious Disease Clinic, but that their condition is not reported to be in danger.
It was also said that the increase in cases of COVID-19 in Europe as well as in the countries of the region has also reflected in our country.
“In general, in the European region and in the countries of the region, there is an increase in cases of COVID-19, and this also reflects in our country, but the cases, however, have not reflected significant burdens on the health system”, said the IKSHPK for the news.
Among other things, IKSHPK has advised citizens to practice hygiene measures, to be tested when they have signs or suspicions of infection and to be vaccinated with booster doses.
“In any case, citizens are advised to practice hygiene measures, to be tested when they have signs or suspicions of infection and to be vaccinated with booster doses, especially people with compromised immunity”.
Otherwise, IKSHPK recalled that the World Health Organization declared the end of COVID-19 as a global health emergency on May 5, 2023.
However, cases of the coronavirus – which first appeared in Wuhan, China at the end of 2019 – have recently been recorded in various countries around the world and on the European continent.
Otherwise, on March 13, 2020, the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, stated that after the completion of the analyzes at the IKSHPK of 15 suspicious cases, two have resulted positive and their health condition turns out to be stable, one is 20 years old with Italian citizenship and the other over 77 years old with Kosovar citizenship. All measures have been taken against the persons with whom they have been in contact.
A day later, on March 14, the third case of coronavirus was confirmed, a family member of the 77-year-old from Vitia.[7] On the same day, 2 cases of coronavirus were confirmed, one in Malishevë and the other in Viti
This is how the situation with the coronavirus has become more difficult day by day.
At the national level in Kosovo, there are over 2000 thousand people who have died as a result of this virus.
